Shoot for Girlfriends
Photographers:
We accept submissions from freelance
photographers in several areas. Photographers are responsible for acquiring and submitting
a model release for each woman recognizable in a photograph.
Please allow six to eight weeks for a
response to unsolicited submissions. We cannot return unsolicited material unless it is
accompanied with a self addressed, stamped envelope.

We accept freelance queries and
submissions in the following areas:
Fashion: Four pages of
color photography that has a fashion or fine art slant. We encourage photographers to
submit work that they've already done, since we frequently cannot budget for original
fashion shoots. Please include model releases and clothing information with your photos.
Payment: $200
Stock Photos:
Photographers may also submit to our library of stock b/w and color photography. We are
always looking for good quality photos of women to illustrate various articles and
features, and are seeking regional photography for our travel sections. Photo payments for
single photos are $50 (less than 1/2 page) or $75 (over 1/2 page photo). The photographer
shall retain all rights to the photo until Girlfriends sends you a letter of contract.
Event Coverage: We
also are looking for photographers to cover local lesbian events and dyke culture. Please
query the editorial staff with samples of your work.
